In this modern era, technological advancements are changing every aspect of life. One such precedent is the availability of e-books that have questioned the existence of physical books and people are divided on whether these books are a requisite for society. I firmly believe that physical books have a much bigger role to play than e-books.

To commence with, a sizeable group of masses deems e-books important in today's world and it is only because these books have numerous benefits. The predominant advantage is the customization and the experience of reading as readers can change the font size. Also, e-readers provide built-in dictionaries, thus, there is no need to carry a dictionary separately. Another important factor is that e-readers or gadgets come with the ability to store thousands of books, making them more portable compared to physical books. For instance, Kindle by Amazon and Nook by Barnes and Noble are examples of e-readers providing all these benefits.

However, others feel that printed books are being used for ages and will always have an upper edge over e-books. The first and foremost reason is the benefits associated with health and the eco-friendly nature of these books. As staring at a gadget screen for long, and that too on regular basis can affect the eyes adversely resulting in weakened eyesight over time. Along with this, against the contrary view that trees are cut to produce physical books, their decomposition has no unfavorable outcomes for the environment whereas if only e-books begin to prevail, the amount of G-waste produced would skyrocket which would be practically impossible to deal with.

In conclusion, it can be perceived that though the advantages of e-books are numerous, still physical books would continue to have dominance over them.
