Advocates of the notion that meat is inherently detrimental to health often highlight contemporary insights into nutrition. Certain meats, particularly red meats like pork and beef, contain fats that can contribute to the primary global cause of mortality: cardiovascular disease. Moreover, meat-based dishes are often laden with excessive carbohydrates, salt, sugar, and unhealthy fats such as butter. A prominent illustration of this is the widespread consumption of cheeseburgers. The detrimental effects of red meat on heart health are exacerbated by the inclusion of buns, cheese, and potentially other toppings, which hinder both short-term and long-term nutritional objectives.
