Topic: Describe a leisure activity you did when you were young
Name of the activity: Playing cricket with friends
Introduction:
When I was young, I used to engage in a lot of leisure
activities with my friends.
One such activity that I particularly enjoyed was playing
cricket.
Cricket is a popular sport in my country and it is played by
people of all ages.
When and where did I
play cricket:
I used to play cricket in my school playground or in an open
field near my house.
We usually played in the evenings after finishing our
homework or on weekends.
I started playing cricket when I was around 10 years old and
continued playing until I was in high school.
Who I played with:
I played with my friends from school and neighborhood.
We would form two teams and take turns batting and bowling.
Sometimes, we even invited other kids from the area to join
us and have a bigger game.
How we played:
We played with a tennis ball and a wooden bat.
We didn't have any formal rules or equipment, so we
improvised and made our own rules.
We would often play for hours without getting tired and
sometimes even continued playing in the dark with street lights as our only
source of light.
Why I enjoyed playing cricket:
Playing cricket was not just a physical activity for me, but
it was also a way to bond with my friends.
I enjoyed the thrill of hitting a six or taking a wicket and
the feeling of being part of a team.
It also helped me to develop my coordination, reflexes, and
strategic thinking skills.
Conclusion:
Playing cricket with my friends was a fun and memorable
activity from my childhood.
Even though I don't play cricket anymore, I still cherish those memories and the friendships that were formed during those games.
